A Memoir

Life Unfinished

Jocelyn Luhr writes a memoir centered on love, loss, and anticipatory grief. Life Unfinished begins with my partner’s cancer diagnosis and follows twenty months of treatment, care, and devotion, before turning toward what comes next: grief, yes, but also endurance, connection, and the gradual shaping of a new life.  Rather than focusing solely on illness, Life Unfinished attends to intimacy—how love deepens under pressure, how meaning is found in small, sustaining acts, and how beauty persists alongside fear. The memoir moves between the clinical and the personal, tracing not only loss but the ways love continues to inform and guide a life forward.  At its heart, Life Unfinished is a testament to love that does not end, and to the possibility of living with openness and purpose after profound loss. The book is currently in its first round of editing before being presented to literary agents. A process as arduous as cancer treatment itself, editing will be completed and the manuscript made available to agents by early summer.
